Peter Wenner, a Los Angeles real
estate developer, weighed 335 pounds
when he underwent gastric bypass
surgery two years ago. He has shed
120 pounds, which he’s delighted
with, but he recounts with horror
those first six weeks after surgery.
“I spent time every day on the toilet,
either vomiting or doubled-over with
diarrhea,” says the 46-year-old father
of four teenage boys. “I never knew
how different foods were going to
affect me.”

When searching for a great restaurant
recommendation, who hasn’t heard
someone say, “Let’s check Zagat.”
Now, the Zagats
have a great health recommendation, too. Tim Zagat,
who with his wife Nina founded their
world famous restaurant guide series
25 years ago, came to the Pritikin
Longevity Center in August and left feeling a whole lot better – and
lighter.
In two weeks, Mr. Zagat shed 15 to
20 pounds, “and I was really delighted
about my blood values. I came to
Pritikin with elevated blood sugar, and
I left with normal blood sugar. My
cholesterol dropped down to normal
levels as well. There’s no question
that these changes were directly
attributable to my stay at Pritikin.”
