About the Supplement Assessment

E-mail Print PDF

The Pritikin Vitamin and Nutritional Supplement Assessment was developed by a group of physicians, nutrition researchers, and registered dietitians who are experts in the area of nutrition and nutritional supplementation.

In the early development of the Pritikin Program, nutritional supplementation was usually discouraged. However, emerging scientific research on the potential benefits of some supplementation cannot be ignored. Years of nutrition research and experiences with our participant population at the Pritikin Longevity Centers have taught us that there are several compelling reasons to support nutrition supplementation. We now recognize that nutrition supplementation can often be beneficial, not as a replacement, but rather in conjunction with a healthy diet such as The Pritikin Eating Plan.

The Supplement Assessment was designed to identify a nutrition supplement program that addresses each individual's nutritional needs.

Nutrition needs are based on a variety of conditions - age, gender, medical history, family history, medications, lifestyle habits, and even the latitude where you live. Our questionnaire is designed to remove the confusion you may experience when deciding which and what dosage of supplements, if any, are appropriate for you. Your answers will determine whether you would benefit from additional nutritional support.
