Dining at the resort is pure pleasure. The Pritikin Eating Plan,
rich in fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, whole grains, pasta,
seafood, and moderate servings of lean meats and nonfat dairy
foods, was originally founded by Nathan Pritikin in the late
1950s. Unwilling
to accept his newly diagnosed heart disease, the 41-year-old
engineer thoroughly studied cultures from around the world that
were virtually free of heart disease and adapted their diets
to American tastes. His cholesterol plummeted from almost 300
to 120 – and his angina (chest pain) vanished. Thus, the
Pritikin Program was born.
Today at the Pritikin Longevity Center & Spa, guests discover
how doable – and absolutely delicious – the Pritikin
Eating Plan is. Award-winning chefs prepare a full array of sumptuous
dishes that are as pleasing to the palate as they are to the eye.
And the food is bountiful! Guests eat five to six times daily.

Stone Crabs, Grilled Filet of Bison With Warm Onion Marmalade,

Cooking School
When you first begin to cook without butter, oils, salt, and sugar,

to preparing tasty dishes! And it's a lot easier than you might
think!
Under
the entertaining tutelage of our Cooking School Director, you will
learn--in a matter of hours--the special secrets that add gourmet
flavor and richness to even the most basic of dishes.
For the experienced cook, each class will expand your repertoire
of delectable dishes. Our talented chef will show you how to adapt
your favorite recipes to the Pritikin Program® guidelines.
You'll also have fun experimenting with new methods of cooking.
If you are just beginning the adventure of cooking, you are in
for a treat. You will learn fast, easy Pritikin ®-style meals.
Our Cooking School Director will assist you with cooking basics,
menu planning, and equipping your kitchen. We will introduce you
to secrets and short-cuts that will make your new Pritikin® lifestyle
practical as well as pleasurable.
