  2. Let sit for 10 minutes.

If you'd prefer, use green onions instead of chives.

Also, here's a quick and simple way to cut your basil and mint into long, thin strips. Stack several leaves on top of each other, then gently roll them into a "cigar." Using a sharp knife, slice your cigar crosswise into thin ribbons.
