Here's deep, sweet blackberry flavor but without the crazy amounts of sugar and corn syrup that are normally in fruit compotes.
- 1 cup blackberries fresh or frozen
- 1 tablespoon no-calorie sweetener sucralose (Splenda) or stevia (many brands)
- In a small sauce pan on the stove, combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until compote begins to thicken.
- Lower heat and reduce further until thick.
- Cool and serve.
