Blackberry Compote

Here's deep, sweet blackberry flavor but without the crazy amounts of sugar and corn syrup that are normally in fruit compotes.

  • 1 cup blackberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon no-calorie sweetener sucralose (Splenda) or stevia (many brands)


  • In a small sauce pan on the stove, combine all ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until compote begins to thicken.
  • Lower heat and reduce further until thick.
  • Cool and serve.
